Enjoying the 花火(fireworks) at the Hikone summer festival. (Or we would have enjoyed them had the show not been interrupted every five minutes to tell you what company or organization had sponsored the next five minute set of fireworks.)
We rode the train 2 hours there and 2 hours back but because we’re leaving Japan before summer 祭り(festival) season really kicks off, this was really our one shot to dress up in yukata, eat street vendor food, and watch some fireworks.
