Carl doesn’t particularly speak Japanese (or much at all, for that matter) but he does speak cute, which will get you pretty far in Japan I think, especially should you happen to be a stuffed bear.

Meet Duffy, a stuffed bear that honestly serves no purpose other than to rake in piles of yen for the Tokyo Disney parks. The second photograph details (in Japanese) how Minnie missed Mickey so much whenever they were apart that she made him a stuffed bear that he now takes with him wherever he goes. The bear went straight into his duffel bag, thus earning the name “Duffy.” (Is it just me or is this a backstory that someone scrawled on the back of a napkin and then never bothered to expand come board meeting time?)

Little did Japan know that I am immune to The Cute by now and did not receive any of my yen via Duffy products.
